Just Pix - Progress

Moving in with too much stuff meant putting things everywhere they didn't belong, including personal stuff in the work room (above), and materials/supplies inside the shower (below).

And even leaving some of my materials, like these doors (below) outside the trailer altogether!

Above: my initial bed set up in the very front part of the trailer on the first night I had power. The lamp is sitting on top of the dresser that will eventually become one of my kitchen cabinets. Below: two views of the same space next morning, just prior to starting work for the day.

Moving, stacking, unpacking, repacking, and condensing everything over and over and over again so I actually had room to work added at least an hour or two to every job I initially did. Above: getting ready to build the second kitchen cabinet unit. I've strung the joints for the kitchen sink drain together, and hung them on my dresser so they don't get lost in the mess. Below: the other side of the same room on the same day.

Below: getting clean initially involved bringing the hose up through the disconnected shower drain, attaching the spray nozzle, running outside to turn the water on, then back inside to close the curtain and using the nozzle like a hand-held shower with the water simply exiting through the same drain and onto the ground below - or using it to fill a tub for just face, hands, and teeth.

Below: My first week in the trailer saw the area where I sleep go through numerous changes to accommodate the amount of space I had, the amount of space I needed, the amount of stuff I still had in boxes, the amount of stuff I'd unpacked, and my preference for both sleeping on my right side and being able to see the moon at night through at least one of my windows. Bottom: the final configuration and how it looks now.

Above: the kitchen finally starting to come together.
Below: view of the same space, around the same time, from my bed.

Below: same view, a week or two later, but now with paint, and curtains ...

And, below, an idea of what it took to get all that paint on the ceiling, walls, and floor.

Meanwhile, outside the trailer ...

Above: my new little front porch/step unit - a three day build using lumber I got from Dave when he tore out the ramp leading to Jeff's apartment. Below: the porch, in situ, from the far end of my patio. Sadly, my set up for the awning and lights couldn't hold up to the wind, and came down in a huge tangle, but it looked good while it lasted and will go back up as soon as I figure out how to keep it up!

Below: the pool ...

And, last but not least, the little bbq I made out of a metal Ikea window box and some upper grate shelves I scavenged from a curbside propane unit - as well as the first meal I cooked on it (below).
